• Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) is an European legislation that defines the requirements for placing on the market and free movement of pressure equipment. The older version was known as 97/23/EC and used for long years as a legally binding legislation. After it’s revision, the directive re-entered into force in July 2016 with the new number 2014/68/EU.
  • As it is defined in the first article of the directive, it applies to design, manufacturing and conformity assessment of all stationary pressure equipment with a max. allowable pressure higher than 0.5 bar.
  • Some equipment within the scope of the directive may not be only pressurized vessels, gas cylinders, steam boilers and exchangers, but also storage tanks, pipelines, valves, actuators, safety disks and other relevant equipment.
