  • Machinery Directive (MD), 2006/42/EC, is an EU legislation that defines the requirements for manufacturing and marketing of machinery and certain parts. The purpose of this directive is to define the essential health and safety requirements about design and manufacture in order to prevent damages in a proper usage. It does not only cover machinery but also covers some changeable and demountable parts, safety accessories, lifting, rotating & moving devices, chains, belts and also semifinished machinery.
  • CE certification and marking is compulsory for all machinery & parts which are included into the scope of this directive.
